Blood visible in the urine?

Blood visible in the urine should be investigated by imaging of the kidneys/ureters and telescopic examination of the bladder. It might just be due to infection, for example, but still needs to be investigated as that may be masking a more serious cause. Serious diagnoses occur in c. 15% of patients.

Inadequate hydration is common and may affect general wellbeing and predispose to fatigue, infections and constipation. Try to keep your urine colour at least yellow and ideally pale yellow (image: Cleveland Clinic).
